Cozy Guest Room Design with Built-in Daybed Nook - La Jolla
A Guest Room Transformed into a Relaxing Retreat
I surprised this family in La Jolla with a cozy alcove created for a teen daughter that visits from Australia. This corner now doubles as a cozy retreat for everyone in the home.
This multi-use retreat was created by placing the daybed in front of the window to optimize on natural light and flanking the daybed with integrated cabinetry in the form of stoarage solutions creating a libary for books, family photos, etc. And I didn't stop there. We also added some adjustable reading lamps and mounted to the bookshelves to add to the cocoon like experience in this corner. And lastly a small mobile laptop table not shown here.
The result - An immersive and calming atmosphere that is now the restorative corner in the home.
